I grew up surrounded by love and color.  Some of my earliest memories are of sitting on my dad's lap while he painted.  When dad wasn't painting, he was often sitting at our kitchen table excitedly pointing out his favorite works in art books and enlightening us with stories of artists of the past.

Above is a series of works that have infinite meaning to me.  They are works created by both me and my father; each of us takes half the canvas and work side by side to complete a painting in a single sitting.

The first of these was crafted in 2008, when I had left a large canvas sitting around the house all summer.  Dad, never able to let a canvas go unpainted, threatened to paint it himself if I returned to college with out using it.  I jokingly said "then paint it with me" and we did that very day.  The result being a fantastical landscape.

Years later Dad would begin to visit me in my new home of Durham, NC.  During these trips we would travel to local art museums and watch the latest art documentaries together.  On one of these trips in 2015 we decided to try painting together again.  Thus began a tradition, whenever dad and I are together we try to complete at least one painting.

The series features scenes from trips we have taken together, landscapes from our individual travels, and abstracts drawn from the creative atmosphere of working together.  We hope you enjoy seeing our attempts at merging our differing styles into a cohesive whole, as much as we did creating them.
